A Tribute to SS Columbia7 Redux

On the anniversary of the SS Columbia mihaps, and at a time when the transformational Obama statist regime has no qualms on transforming NASA into a vehicle of outreach into the Muslim world, it behooves to revisit and reiterate our homage to the SS Columbia crew who had rendered the ultimate measure of their devotions to the cause of Libert and the Pursuit of Happiness, the proposition on which this America we inherited from our Founding Fathers, have flourished for than two centuries which is not being mortally threatened by the machinations of the statist Obama regime. So once again I beg your indulgence to share with me these sentiments which I rendered into verse, minutes after I heard of the mihap.

God bless you and God bless America
=========================
To Columbia 7: A Tribute
To you, the valiant heirs of Prometheus,
Of Liebnitz, Kepler, and Copernicus,
We mourn our lose but celebrate the cause
That caused the ultimate measure of your
Devotion, proclaimed in blazing glory,
And sealed your rendezvous with Destiny.
In votive gratitude and homage pledge
To keep your tourch aflame and let endure
Ages of unbegot posterity.
Hence every fragment that your ship had strewn
Should our ambitions amply leverage
And claim your vintage courage as our own:
All wholesome sacrifice to Liberty
The ransom price for Immortality!!

Contemplation

Whither find I the dawn

To dreams I see obscure

Of fate that I may own

My thoughts did long venture

The boast of opulence

On earth the greatest joy

And fountain of much sins

We welcome or endure

To naught sans recompense

Which mortals can deploy.

But sure I of His pure

And keen intelligence

That showers to him peace

Who holds faith in His Grace.

Reflections on Employment

Soliloquy: Reflections on One Year's Employment

(XIX) [1]

When I consider how some days are spent

Toiling away at boring odds and ends,

Passing from one to next predicament,

I pause and ask: why can't I make amends?

Yet oftentimes the answer never comes;

Or if it does, rather belatedly.

And yet each day, by work, attains its charms;

Or else each day would pass begrudgingly

Unmarked, unwelcomed, not a tear to mourn

Or wash away frustration's epitaph,

Nor hymn to herald those days yet unborn,

Nor elegy when going gets too tough:

Such work as deemed no worthy selfexcuse

Its sin in content does its form abuse!!!

(XX) [2]

Proceed, courageous friend, for glory bound,

Secure much better ends than thus been found.

While shines the beacon from more fertile ground,

Why dwell a penitent of schemes unsound?

All have regrets, and some their penance bear,

But only those defying odds, still dare

The risks of failures could abodes repair

To breathe, in ample fields, Elysian air!

Uncertainty replete, may be the way,

Selfdoubt can yet your self assurance breed

If for each doubt you ample toil defray

With reason's temperance for errors made:

Triumph may not be seen for each attempt

But not attempting breeds but selfcontempt!!!
